Late pea
Some of the pea crop has over matured and dried out, but they're easier to store like that and can be rehydrated in stews, or used as seed for later sowings.

Mix and mash
Plenty of food around now. It all needs picking and storing, processing and eating. The first of the summer raspberries are ripe as the strawberry crop dwindles. Making jam with both, separately, together, with blackcurrants. Mix and mash.

Pea pod
The plants need almost daily watering, but the pea pods are fattening nicely and the first are worth harvesting.

Clinging to bristles
The peas seem happy, although they're not keen on climbing old raspberry cane sticks because of the bristles. Scattering a few fennel leaves deters slugs and snails, although it's been so dry, and cold, that there's been no major mollusc appearance yet.
